Noy Chung (Australia)

Noy Chung (Australia) I had the best time. I had just got married and my husband, who couldn't take time off from work, sent me on my dream honeymoon alone to do something I have wanted to do ever since I started learning pottery. I wanted to learn more about unique pottery experiences. Khmer Village Pottery Tours offered that opportunity and I was not disappointed. Paul and his team made my dream honeymoon come true. My only complaint was that it was too short. I wish I could have stayed longer

I stumbled upon Paul's website while planning my trip to Cambodia at the beginning of 2023.It appeared to be exactly what I was looking for.  I spent about a week in one of the spindle bamboo huts, just before he had finsihed building the guest house. I wqsn't disappointed.  Paul was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the local people, their customs and their interesting pottery.  He went out of his way to help me get the best out of my stay. Paul arranged a number of excursions and helped me arrange my own.  The people of Kampong Chhnang were friendly and charming.  I wholehearedly recommend a stay at Paul's pottery in Andong Reussey.

Wrapping up my residence at Khmer Village Pottery Residency in Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia.  What a transformative experience- I will miss waking up and eating breakfast with the Aunties, waking up to the sound of paddling pots across the street, and all my little gecko friends I’ve made here.

I was one of the pioneers, before the tours took their present shape, and I think I was a little instrumental in how this project turned out. :-) I had the time of my life, learning 'new' old techniques, getting in touch with those wonderful Khmer people and in the course of my relatively short stay, learning a little about their way of life, which for me was one of the real highlights. If health didn't prevent me from doing so, I'd be back in a heartbeat for an extended stay, making use of the offered excursions.
